Notice Board
Introducing the Oshkosh to Neenah Race: a casual pursuit race along the northwest shore of Lake Winnebago.
Sailors of any ability level are welcome to participate. All you need is a way to tell time and the ability to navigate the approximately 12 mile course between the two cities. A pursuit race uses pre-calculated handicaps based on boat performance to give each competitor a start time. The slowest boats get the greatest head start. Whomever crosses the finish line first wins. Boat-on-boat interactions are rare, so there are no complicated racing rules to remember.
Entry is free and open to any boat on Lake Winnebago with self-righting capability (i.e. keelboat or cruising multihull), but pre-registration is essential for assigning start times.
The first start will be at 10:00AM. Boats from Neenah can either cruise down to Oshkosh on Friday or depart Neenah early enough on Saturday morning to make their start times.
