Multi-leg race from Neenah to Stockbridge
Host Club: The Neenah Nodaway Yacht Club is the Organizing Authority
Rules: The Race will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing and the NNYC sailing instructions. This is a recreational event and the decision to race shall be at the sole discretion of each boat’s skipper.
Date: Saturday July 29th, 2023
Eligibility: This is an open event for keelboats. All boats will: 1) be self-righting, 2) have an enclosed cabin, 3) have a self-bailing cockpit, and 4) have an auxiliary engine. Per the NNYC Sailing instructions, entries must have at least one crew in addition to the skipper.
Entry Deadline: 20:00 Friday, July 28th, 2023. Online registration only at www.nnyc.org, Entry fee: $30
Skippers Meeting: No Scheduled Skippers meeting scheduled - SIs communicated by email
First Warning: 9:00 AM
Start: The starting line will be in the vicinity of Neenah and Menasha, Southeast of Doty Island.
Finish: Approximately ½ mile West of the Harbor Bar in Stockbridge.
Courses: Approximately 11 nautical miles. The primary course will be a 2-leg course with a turning mark immediately South of the North Shore Country Club. (North-Northeastern end of Lake Winnebago). In the event of lighter wind, the course may be shortened, or changed to a single leg at the start.
Time Limit: 14:00 CDT, Saturday, July 29th, 2023
Classes: Spinnaker & Non-Spinnaker Classes will be available
Scoring: Time-on-Time Portsmouth. If you have not raced in a NNYC event, or are entering a new boat, please complete this boat information form so that a rating can be assigned.
Results: Award Flags will be awarded for the top 3 finishers in each division. The winner of the Spinnaker Division will also be awarded the Josh Beverlin Memorial Trophy.
Accomodations:
Friday Night: Boats wishing to stay the night on Friday July 28th may contact the Neenah parks department for overnight docking at the seawall, or make arrangements with Menasha Marina by calling: (920) 967-5193
Post Race: The fleet will meet in Stockbridge for Scoring & Debrief. Dining and refreshments at the Harbor Bar will be available to participants at their own cost.
Stockbridge Harbor is best approached from due West. There is shallow water if approaching too steeply from the North.
